Limited Tea Light Recall Notice

The following GoodLight tea lights should not be used due to a potential fire hazard. While this potential is small it is real. If you have the following GoodLight tea lights please contact us for replacement candles.

Any 6-pack, 24-pack, 48-pack, or 100-pack that has the batch number “000002” stamped in blue on the package. The batch number should be either stamped on the back or bottom panel of the box. These tea lights can also be identified by their appearance: they are molded tea lights with a raised circle or ring on the top. Our new tea lights with a flat top and no ring are NOT part of this recall.

Why the recall?

We have received two similar customer reports stating that our tea lights "caught fire" while burning. While we are still investigating these claims, we are morally and legally bound to take all precautions necessary to safeguard of our customers.

Does this recall apply to all GoodLight tea lights?

No, it does not. It only applies to tea lights sold in a 6-pack, 24-pack, 48-pack, or 100-pack that has the batch number “000002” stamped in blue on the package. This batch of tea lights first became available on October 24, 2011.

Our New Tea Lights:

Due to reasons totally unrelated to this issue, we had already begun manufacturing our tea lights in a new facility with a new formulation that has greatly improved their burn quality and burn time. We, and many of you, have been burning these new tea lights for many months now with outstanding results. We are totally confident in the safety and quality of these new tea lights. Starting immediately, these are now the only GoodLight tea lights available on our website and within a few days will be the only GoodLight tea lights available in stores. The Batch 000002 product will be removed from stores and replaced with new product beginning April 20.
